Lakecia Benjamin & Jazzmeia Horn Notes: The image was shot at The Charlie Parker Jazz Festival in Tompkins Square Park in 2018.

Ornette Coleman Notes: The image was shot backstage at The Texaco Jazz Festival in NYC in 2006.

Miles Davis:

Hand-Colored Notes: The image was shot at the JVC Jazz Festival in Saratoga, NY in 1985 when Farber photographed Davis for the 2nd time. It is from her one of a kind hand-colored photo series (see gallery in portfolio section).

Sepia and Red Horn Notes: The image was shot at the JVC Jazz Festival in Saratoga, NY in 1985 when Farber photographed Davis for the 2nd time.

Miles in 4 Notes: The image was shot at the Atlanta Free Jazz Festival in 1984. It was her first time photographing Miles and contrary to her knowledge of his legend, he came right to the edge of the stage and faced the audience! It is from her one of a kind hand-colored photo series (see gallery in portfolio section).

Dizzy Gillespie Playing Notes: The image was shot in NYC  in 1991.

Dizzy Gillespie Notes: The image was shot backstage at the Moonshadow Saloon in Atlanta, GA in 1984. A local artist presented Dizzy with the sculpture, but actually didn't let him keep it and Dizzy didn't offer to buy it! It can be seen in Farber's "Legends Who Have Passed Through My Lens" gallery.

Dizzy Gillespie Memorial Trumpeters Led by Bill Clinton (Not Really!) The double exposure (pre-digital) was shot in NYC in 1992, the night Clinton was nominated as the official Democratic candidate for President. Then in January 1993 Farber shot the 2nd exposure (mistakenly) at the Dizzy Gillespie Memorial at St. John's Church of the Divine, also in NYC. The Trumpeters (L to R) include: Claudio Roditi, Byron Dean, Clark Terry, Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Jon Faddis, and Donald Byrd. Hillary is in the shadows in the background on the left.

Dexter Gordon Notes: The image was in Atlanta, GA in 1982 when Gordon came to Atlanta for a performance. After the show, he needed a ride to the post concert event and interview. Farber's roommate at the time was driving a green car and long, tall Dexter could barely fit in so he sat in the back where he could stretch his legs. It was a memorable occasion as her roommate at the time, had no idea he was jazz royalty and Farber just couldn't believe it was HER who somehow was tasked with bringing him to the party!

Roy Hargrove and Sonny Rollins Notes: Farber shot this backstage at Carnegie Hall in 1991. It is hand-painted from a black and white original and can be seen in her one of a kind hand-colored photo series (see gallery in portfolio section).

Wynton & Branford Marsalis Notes: The image was shot at Clark College in Atlanta, GA in 1983. The brothers were playing with the patriarch of their success, their father Ellis Marsalis. This was Farber's first but not last time photographing them together and separately, mostly the latter. After Farber moved to NYC in 1985, Wynton relocated from New Orleans shortly thereafter.  It is from her one of a kind hand-colored photo series (see gallery in portfolio section). There are two different frames from the same shoot demonstrating her before and after hand-coloring.

Sonny Rollins Notes: The image was shot at the South Street Seaport in 1990.  It was Farber's very first time shooting Sonny but not at all her last!
